Our bricklayers are free spirited and passionate artists, lovingly cutting and placing our black(ish) bricks in the pattern Lanre has diligently specified.

Sounds almost romantic, doesn’t it?

The thing with free spirits, however, is that you can’t guarantee the days or times they’ll be on site. They come when they feel like it. Nor can you judge how much their passionate conversations will piss of the neighbours and compel them to run out of their houses begging them to control their ‘passion’.

I guess it’s the price you pay for having people on your project that care about getting it right, and I’ve been pretty damn nervous about getting this right. This is it. This is the final layer before they switch to making the inside inhabitable, and we will simply have to live with any mistakes.

Angry neighbours might just be worth it.
