Plaster
In an ideal world we would be plastering after the building is completely wind and water right - i.e... with all the windows in. Well, as we know nothing about 2020 is even remotely ideal, so Instead we have boards and heavy duty plastic sheets preventing nature from having its wicked away.
The duo doing the plastering are stunningly fast. The carcass of the building is being rapidly covered up with bright pink plasterboard sheets (a little glimpse of the pink house that never was), and skimmed over with the plaster.
This new layer is beautiful. I love the richness.. it reminds me of soil that I’ve stepped on in Nigeria. The way the light bounces off it is delightful. Lanre and I stood staring at one wall in what will be our daughters room for a good few minutes... almost in a trance... while waiting for our front door supplier to arrive to measure up.
It’s a shame we can’t keep it.
