A lot of Nothing

We are at that stage where things go ‘oh… so… quiet’.

Not much has changed over the last week, and next week isn’t looking too promising either. The roof-lights are delayed, so the roof is delayed. Our windows and doors are split between three different suppliers (made sense at the time!), all with their own annoying problems to solve, budgets to balance, and confusingly long lead times to contend with. Without a roof, windows and doors, getting watertight becomes tricky, which will probably cause a knock-on delay to when any internal fitting work can begin… moisture is the enemy of progress.

This is where being ‘in before Christmas’ starts to look a bit shaky. We should never have said it out loud… we have all seen Grand Designs, we know how that goes!

So, while we wait for the building to ‘top out’, and our moment to sip some fizzy alcohol in celebration, we are trying to get our heads around the details of stairs, tiles, flooring, paint colours, furnishings, and carpentry. The list goes on, and on.

I will do my best to document our ideas as they take better shape, but in the meantime, as I don’t have a picture of tumbleweed, here are some lovely trees instead.
