Digging

Hole-y-Moley.

Our triangle shaped site is an old garage to the side of an end of terrace house and shares boundaries with four garden neighbours on an adjacent road. It’s a tight site and there are loads of people we can potentially piss off if we don’t get this right… adding to the fun.

Today the team started digging a hole, horray! In order to build the basement they need to construct a steel framework that props up the main house, allows us to construct new basement walls, and stops everything caving in… which wouldn’t be ideal.

There have been a few last minute recalculations and I can’t say I quite understand the mysterious incantations Lanre is discussing with our Structural Engineer and Builders, but I trust that if anyone can figure it out, this team can!
